Zona Rosa Art Fair

For the past two days I have been exhibiting at the Zona Rosa Art Fair sponsored by the Platte County Arts Council.  On Friday the show was cut short by tornado alerts and torrential rainfalls.  Some parts of Kansas City received over 4 inches of rainfall.  I was fortunate that my tent withstood the weather and, with the exception of some minor leaking, held up well.  Saturday was better but not great.  The rain stopped by 11:00 AM and we even had some blue sky and sunshine.  By the early evening, however, the rain returned in the form of a steady drizzle.  All of this weather kept the crowds down to a trickle (pun intended) which is really bad for business.

I am headed to the Artist Only Brunch and Awards Ceremony.  I am hopeful that I will win at least some recognition from the judges but, as ever, there is the luck of the draw.  I will report later if I won any ribbons at the Zona Rosa Fair.

In the coming weeks I am scheduled to exhibit in Bloomington Illinois and Ponte Verda Beach Florida and I am also waiting for notice of invitations at several other fairs.  Keep watching this blog for updates and information.
