Follow up on the Elgin Alley of Art

A grand time was had by one and all at the first Elgin Alley of Art festival held in conjunction with the Elgin Theater Walk 2008. I had the great pleasure of being introduced to the great food at Al’s Cafe on DuPage Circle in downtown Elgin. I also was completely taken in by the great sound of the Rory Miller Band, a new Chicago indie folk rock band. Rory Miller has a voice that would captivate even the almighty itself. I hated to see her pack up and leave.

On another note, I sold three images at the festival–no small feat for a four hour art fair. As an Elgin area artist I feel a strong obligation to help the city build the community interest in the arts, especially the visual arts. So I’ll be back next year.
